TravelAlert - Terms of use

  1. Countries covered

    AidCom will cover all countries, with the exception of countries and territories for which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an advice telling travellers not to visit.

    For most countries, the traveller will be able to define specific destinations in order to maximize the relevance of the information sent out.

  2. How many messages

    From tests and experience it is estimated that the number of SMS messages sent out will be around 2-5 per week. This includes standard confirmation messages upon arrival at your destination, and at the end of the journey.

  3. Language

    Messages will be sent out in English. We are also able to translate into Norwegian and Spanish upon request.

  4. Use of sources

    All messages from AidCom will be tagged with the source. We will in principal get our information from larger international news providers, but in some cases, where time is crucial, local news media will be used as reference if they are the first to break the story.

  5. The traveller used as source

    If you witness or are informed of relevant events at your destination, we would appreciate if you inform us so that we can notify other travellers in the area.

    We will then forward your information to one of our news providers for confirmation, this to ensure our guidelines for source information are observed.

  6. Limitation of Liability

    AidCom will only pass on information from other sources. In no event shall AidCom be liable for injuries, damages or losses caused by action taken as a response to information received from the company.

  7. Personal data

    By accepting the terms of use, AidCom AS is given permission to register and store the information obtained from the registration-form. AidCom AS will not distribute personal data to a third party for commercial use.
