China: (RSOE) - More than 30,000 people are reportedly trapped by floodwaters in a town in northeast China’s Jilin Province after torrential downpours. Telecommunications were down in Kouqian Town, where the Yongji County Government is located, and more than 200 rescuers had been sent in.

India: (New Kerala New) - Continuing heavy rains have caused landslides in Nivsar and Adavali in Maharashtra, and is disrupting all rail service on the Konkan Railway for the fourth day.

Portugal: (RSOE) - More than 1,200 firefighters were Tuesday battling 16 wildfires in heat-stricken Portugal, emergency services said. Most of the fires raged in the north of the country. Most parts of Portugal were on high fire alert amid temperatures of about 40 degrees Celsius.

USA: (Star Tribune) -  The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory until 7 p.m. Tuesday for parts of central and southern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, Albert Lea, Red Wing and Mankato. A flash flood warning was issued Tuesday afternoon for parts of Becker, Otter Tail, Wadena, Wilkin and Clay counties in western Minnesota.

Nepal: (RSOE) - Headquarters of all four districts in Dhaulagiri zone have been cut off from the rest of the district due to landslides and floods following incessant rainfall. Pokhara-Baglung road has been obstructed due to rain while landslide in Armadi of Parvat has left vehicles coming to Myagdi and Baglung districts from different parts of the country stranded.

Israel: (RSOE) - Three cases of Mediterranean spotted fever, a type of typhus, were treated at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera in recent weeks. The head of the center’s infectious diseases unit, called on the public to be alert to the symptoms and avoid being bitten by the parasite that causes the disease.

Canada: (RSOE) - Federal officials have called on the public to be cautious following a salmonella outbreak traced to a brand of headcheese.. Canada’s public health agency said consumers should not eat Freybe brand headcheese. 18 people have been reported sick after consuming the product in Ontario and British Columbia.

Bulgaria: (RSOE) -  The town of Saedinenie announced state of emergency after torrential rains kept pouring Sunday night. The industrial part and the Roma neighborhood are among the most severely hit. Plovdiv has also been hit by the torrents. Heavy rain threatens to damage the road surfaces in Dospat.

USA: (CNN) - Severe overnight storms have caused thousands in Chicago to lose power. It was unclear when power would be restored to those households because storms were still rolling through the area. Reports of flooded basements and expressway closures also surfaced.

Netherlands: (CDC) - The Netherlands National Institute for Public Health continues to report an outbreak of Q fever in The Netherlands. 427 human cases were reported, including 5 deaths.  Most of these cases have been in Noord Brabant, Gelderland, Limburg, and Utrecht Provinces, although cases have been reported throughout the country.
